In a casino far, far too emotionally invested in dice, one board rises above the bargain bin: Acey Deucy, the craziest skill-and-luck data game ever bolted to a browser.
You get strategy, you get heartbreak, you get win odds, tie odds, pip margins, streaks, stats, and enough double-six drama to make a used car salesman slap the roof of this thing and say, "This baby can hold so many bad decisions."
Step right up, roll the bones, move the pips, dodge the penalty bar, and chase glory with all the confidence of a captain financing a star cruiser at 29.9 percent APR.
The Basics
Acey Deucy is a variant of backgammon played in the U.S. Navy. Move all 15 of your checkers around the board and bear them off to win. You start with no checkers on the board - all pieces enter from the bar.
Entering from the Bar
On each turn, roll two dice. Use the numbers to enter your checkers onto your opponent's home board (points 1-6). A checker can only enter on an open point (0 or 1 opponent checker). If you can't enter, your turn ends.
โก Acey Deucy (1-2)
Roll a 1 and a 2? That's Acey Deucy! You play the 1 and 2, then pick any doubles you want and play those 4 moves. After that, roll again for a bonus turn.
Doubles
Roll doubles? Play those 4 moves, then roll again for a bonus turn. Doubles are powerful - use them wisely.
Hitting
Land on a point with exactly 1 opponent checker to send it back to the bar. They must re-enter before moving any other pieces.
Bearing Off
Once all your checkers are in your home board (points 19-24), start bearing them off. First player to bear off all 15 wins.
Tips
Build blocks of 2+ checkers to protect against hits. Don't waste doubles - if you can't use all 4 moves they're gone. Entering fast is key.
